It’s Thursday Morning, May 10th and rain has come again. And with it lots of leaves on the trees, so it’s difficult to see Big Blue.
For the 24 Old Farts and Fartettes who are braving the elements and heading for Sam’s and Breakfast, the mood is “we don’t care about the stinkin’ rain”.
Our one lone Bike, ridden by Jack “Stash”C. , is warming up in the driveway.
Rick, also known as “Mike”, has decided once again to attempt Sam’s without Gail. He knows he will get grief, again. We have finally come up with a nickname for Rick. Because he drives the big gasoline rigs. We shall call him “Tanker”.
Tables are set, food is being served and the talk is all about the upcoming trips. Boy, the Old Fart Riders of MA and NC are rolling right into the season. Ed “Triker” B. is leading a group to the All Harley Drags in Atco, NJ. Father Flanagan has planned a great ride to Rolling Thunder over the hills and dales (translates as backroads) to D.C. This group will be there early enough to take in some of the sites we missed last year. Clinton, Maryland will be rocking as the Groups from MA and NC get together for the 1st Annual OFR Nation “Gathering”.
Also, SOFR’s Corner and Company will be bouncing around Alaska for a few days.
Here are a few “Burps” from Breakfast: Yes folks, that is Jack “Roughrider” D. back from the Sunshine State with a tan. During his stay, he has become an expert on Beach ware and the lack thereof. Just ask him. Modesty prevents me from further disclosure.
Dick, “Two Shoes” M.. was so pleased with himself today. His foot ware matched!
Jack “Hats” R. greeted us today with a warm “Bonjour, Bonjour”. Very nice Jack.
A rousing Happy Birthday to You was sung for Bruce “The Bruce” B. “He’s not a kid anymore”
Newly appointed Commodore Dave (“Capt. Winkie” W.) of the CPYC arrived to a loud greeting. We are proud of our Capt. Wait till you see the photo of Commodore Dave W. Dave has invited the Old Farts to the Commodore’s Ball in June.
We again heard from Big Greg and Laura on how pleased their son Steve and his fellow Marines are with the Care Pkgs that OFR is sending overseas. More items were gathered this morning for packaging. Thanks to Dick “Two Shoes” M. for his organizing this effort.
Joanie “Den Mother” B. won the Drawing. Happy, Happy !
A Thank You Card from Sue and John F. was circulated. Sue expressed her thanks for the great display of support shown to her and the family during the recent passing of her Father.
Dana “CC” P. presented a beautifully framed Group Photo of the Old Farts who attended Junior C’s Italian Nite Feast. Junior was surprised and thanked everyone for coming that evening. He is looking forward to next year.

SOFR…OFR’s Motto; “Ride and Have Fun”….(I do, on 3′s of course.)

I know how to “ward off” these Big Boys thanks to George W’s instructions….}:-)
